?JW guy and Taser attack during Cowboys - Jets game?

i just saw this on the morning tv news - and did not get to hear enough of it to make sense:.

but, they were saying something about a patron sneaking a taser into the sunday game and using it on another fan.. they also said that one of the guys (i assumed the victim) was "a devout jehovah's witness who does not believe in saluting the flag or standing for the national anthem".. anybody know what happened here?.

I honestly don't think Mr.Unthank expects any of the GB to show up and he certainly doesn't expect the FDS to show (since they don't exist). I expect the Australian corporation will be the only one to even defend itself throughout the proceedings but at some point won't they be asked about their co-defendants and whether there is some relationship with them and to what extent?

Then we get to hear (assuming they don't get the proceedings gag-ordered) what the Borg spin on this entire thing is.

I know our focus as ex-Dubs is on the Borg but is there any indication that the pedophile cover-up phenomenon is common among other religions, as well? (besides the Catholic church, of course)

I think maybe the reason the story doesn't get much publicity in the USA anymore is because it has been played out for the most part (media-wise) with both the Catholics and JWs. If there was a new scandal in another religion then perhaps it would bring up the JW situation to the forefront again.

Does 2 John 10-11 encourage shunning ex JW's?

i was reading john's second letter before in my nlt bible and i came accross the scriptures used to back up the act of shunning former jw's.

in my bible it reads totaly contrary to the way the jw's say, so i decided to get out the old nwt bible which gives exactly the same ideas.

Good catch, punk. Another instance of the Borg denying a direct command of Jesus in favor of some other Bible writer's contradictory statement.

One would think that when the apostle Paul, or some Old Testament writer disagrees with the Son of God that the words of Jesus Christ would take precedence. Not with the Borg. If Joel says one thing and Jesus says the other, they tend to roll with Joel. If the apostle Paul says one thing and Christ says the other, they go with Paul. If David the murderer/adulterer says one thing (sometimes while simply singing a song) and the Son of God says another, the Borg rolls with the killer-adulterer.

finally my wife and i got around to reading george orwell's " 1984 " .

as many of you know who have read the book that " the party " or " big brother " as the ruling power in the book is called ; constantly changes records of it's past dealings so as to deceive the public about any false forecasts they may have mistakenly made ; in an effort to put forth a positive image of itself it destroys past embarrassing records or paperwork which would expose the " party " as a failure.

the governing body of jehovah's witnesses was recently summoned to appear in the magistrates' court of victoria on september 13, 2011 in relation to a number of indictable criminal offences allegedly committed.

There are a few different outcomes that I'd consider "victory" in this case.

One, is if it becomes a widespread international public relations debacle for the Borg.

Two, if the Borg is forced - at least in Victoria Australia - to require all its elders and ministerial servants to undergo the required criminal background checks upon either their recommendation or appointment and then at whatever regular intervals thereafter required by law.

Three, if growth of the organization decreases significantly as a result of the public relations debacle in "victory" one above.

Fourth, if the prosecution manages to avoid the same sort of "gag order" the Borg attorney is seeking in the Menlo Park, CA case (and that the Borg attorneys are certain to ask for in this case) and all case documentation and transcripts become publicly available.
